What do you guys think about TIDAL and Spotify security-wise? I'm sure this could be fun.

TIDAL is owned by Jay Z. It is basically like Spotify but offers high quality, lossless streaming. And their accounts are expensive. Having access to it means having millions of tracks handy and they are all genuine CD quality.

But there is a catch: you can't download them. And this is where the adventure begins :D

Never heard of TIDAL ever :D

Tidal is the reason we all pirate Kanye West (not like we would pay for his music anyways): https://torrentfreak.com/kanye-wests-the-life-of-pablo-piracy-160216/

All that noise makes perfect sense. That guy is simply Jay Z's puppet meant to brag and hype - all for the popularity of TIDAL. To me this is a huge social experiment in the series of "steal this album" as Kanye West is basically begging for piracy :D And all those people help to spread the word about TIDAL at the same time. Of course it has been on the news a lot, too. So now hundreds of thousands of people are "wtf is TIDAL gotta try it", etc. Well done.

I've never heared of TIDAL either. I might have to try it before i can give any feedback according to it. In terms of spotify: Im not really a fan of it. Im sure that you can find a lot of bugs if you just keep on searching them. So far I've only ran across 1 (Which is already fixed) but im sure there are more.

These services are great if you want to meet new artists, taste different music styles, etc. It is fun to experiment there. Spotify was quite exploited before but never heard of TIDAL hacks which makes me wonder a lot.

That might be caused of the fact that noone knows TIDAL so there is no interest in exploiting it. The goal of exploids is usual to grab user data which isnt possible if youve got a platform that only a few guys use.

You are very wrong about that. Last year TIDAL announced reaching 1 million active customers which doesn't fit into "noone knows" or "a few" anymore.

A custom tool? This seems great. Any plans on working on it and releasing?

Yes. A friend of mine coded it in node.js, released it and it worked pretty good. The complete source code is available in cleartext. Maybe I get it working again else I will find someone else.
